HEART DISEASE IS A LEADING KILLER IN THIS COUNTRY BUT IT IS ALSO A MAJOR SOURCE OF ILLNESS AND DISABILITY. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS TAKE A WALK THROUGH ANY OF OUR MAJOR HOSPITALS HERE IN THE UNITED STATES TO SEE THE DAMAGE THAT HEART DISEASE CAN DO. THERE ARE CERTAIN KEY RISK FACTORS FOR HEART DISEASE. FAR AND AWAY NUMBER ONE IS CIGARETTE SMOKING. SMOKING DRAMATICALLY INCREASES THE RISK OF HEART PROBLEMS INCLUDING MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION AND STROKE. SECOND ON THE LIST ARE METABOLIC FACTORS..SOME OF WHICH WE CAN CONTROL AND SOME WE CAN’T. HERE I AM TALKING ABOUT ELEVATIONS OF CHOLESTEROL AND TOO MUCH BAD CHOLESTEROL. OUR DIET PLAYS A ROLE IN THIS BUT OUR GENES ALSO CONTRIBUTE. OFTEN WE CAN TELL BY OUR FAMILY HISTORY WHO IS AT RISK. OTHER MAJOR CAUSES INCLUDE SEDENTARY LIFESTYLE..LACK OF EXERCISE ..AND STRESS. WE DON’T THINK OF STRESS ASA MAJOR PROBLEM BUT TAKE A CLOSE LOOK AT THE PAST YEAR. HOW MANY OF US HAVE LOST OUR JOBS AND HOW MANY MORE ARE WORRYING ABOUT IT. NOT ONLY THAT, THERE ARE THE ADDED WORRIES OF DAY TO DAY LIFE IN A HIGHLY TECHNICAL SOCIETY. THIS CAN INCREASE CORTISOL OR STRESS HORMONE LEVELS AND RAISE OUR BLOOD PRESSURE. THE TAKE HOME MESSAGE IS TO FIND WAYS TO CHANGE YOUR LIFESTYLE NOW. MAKE CERTAIN YOU EXERCISE, EAT WELL AND TRY TO CARE FOR YOURSELF FOR THE LONG HAUL. I’M DR BRIAN MCDONOUGH

Dr, Colin Marchant

What’s this?
By Steve Sternberg, USA TODAY
An experimental meningitis vaccine appears to generate more potent immunity than the version now available in young people who suffer most from the disease, researchers reported Monday.
Previous research shows the Novartis vaccine, called Menveo, also works in young infants, who are not protected by the current vaccine.

BETTER LIFE: Health news and wellness tips

“It has a great deal of potential in that age group,” says Keith Reisinger, medical director of Primary Physicians Research Inc., the for-profit clinical trials organization that carried out the Novartis study.

The vaccine rivalry is heating up because bacterial meningitis is such a devastating infection of the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal nerves and because so many young people remain vulnerable.

FIND MORE STORIES IN: Prevention | Centers for Disease Control | Honolulu | Boston University | Novartis | Sanofi-Aventis | Menactra | Pediatric Academic Societies | Menveo
Each year, roughly 1,400 to 2,800 cases of the disease occur in the USA, and one out of 10 patients die. Another 10% to 15% of patients develop deafness, seizures and bloodstream infections.

Those hit hardest are infants and adolescents, doctors say. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends vaccinations for all adolescents between the ages of 11 and 12. The current vaccine, Sanofi-Aventis’ Menactra, is approved for infants nine months and older, leaving younger infants vulnerable to infection.

The new vaccine is similar in many ways to the older one. Both are designed to protect against four of the five subtypes of meningococcal bacteria. But Menveo has a carrier protein that the older vaccine lacks, which appears to promote more potent levels of immunity, Reisinger says.

The new study involved 2,100 young people from 11 to 18 years old. Half of the group got Menveo, the other half got Menactra. One month after vaccination, the Menveo group had higher levels of antibodies against three subtypes of meningococcal bacteria and equivalent levels of the fourth, researchers reported at the annual meeting of the Pediatric Academic Societies in Honolulu.

“The number of adolescents that achieved protective antibody levels was also higher with the new vaccine,” says Colin Marchant, a Boston University pediatrician who also participated in the trial.

Marchant notes that bacterial meningitis is such a rare disease that it’s impossible to determine whether the vaccine will prevent infection until after a vaccine is approved and reported cases begin falling. But the company estimates that the new vaccine could benefit as many as 8 million infants and adolescents who are not achieving adequate protection.

Harvey’s Story about his Alternative Cancer Treatment in Tijuana, Mexico

5 years ago Harvey was diagnosed with brain cancer, and his doctors told him that he only had a year and a half to live. After having a portion of the brain tumor removed, and undergoing 8 weeks of chemotherapy (which he says he would NEVER do again, because of how horrific that experience was for him) he looked for some alternative cancer treatments. He noticed that a few people had mentioned Mexico to him, and even his chiropractor of many years gave him the name of a hospital down in Mexico that uses alternative methods to treat people with cancer.

According to his doctors, Harvey should not be here with us today. Harvey is fully confident that the reason he’s doing so well is because of the treatment he received in Mexico, and he highly recommends that people with cancer seek out alternative treatments. Not only is Harvey still alive and WELL, but his immune system is so strong now that he hasn’t even been sick since 2004 when he was diagnosed with cancer!

When you give the body what it needs, it can heal itself.

Cancer can’t live and grow inside a healthy body.

You cant heal with poisons (ex. chemotherapy)!

Just because you might be more genetically susceptible to getting cancer, doesnt mean that you WILL get it (like a seed needs water, oxygen, light, etc. to grow; cancer cells need certain things to grow and flourish also… and a healthy body does NOT have what the cancer cells need).

The cancer industry is a business, and a ‘cure’ would put them out of business! … to hear more about it watch the movie “Healing Cancer from Inside Out”. I have the trailer for the movie posted on my channel.

The Best Fish Oil Supplement For Cholesterol, Triglycerides and Heart Health

http://www.naturalfishoil.info – The Best Fish Oil Supplement For Cholesterol, Triglycerides and Heart Health

Hello! I am here to tell you about The Best Fish Oil Supplement For Cholesterol, Triglycerides and Heart Health!
There are many health benefits that you can get from the best fish oil supplement. A lot of health experts and medical practitioners have recommended the intake of fish supplement for heart health, most especially to people who are suffering from heart disease and cardiovascular diseases.

Why is it good for the heart? This kind of oil is very high in omega-3 fatty acids and omega 3′s that are good fatty acids. They can help lower blood pressure, can decrease the risks of cardiac death due to arrythmias, can decrease the possibility of blood clumping in the arteries by making the blood less sticky.

Clumping of blood in the arteries is one cause for sudden heart attacks. Also, fish oil reduces triglycerides, which if very high and paired with a high level of cholesterol can make a person become a candidate for a fatal heart disease.

So with this proven good results of fish oil for cholesterol and triglycerides, taking it is very highly recommended.

However, you cannot just take in any kind of supplement. Some fish supplements in the market today doesn’t meet up the standards needed for it to be a good health supplement.

There are some important things you have to keep in mind when buying a fish oil omega 3 supplement, and these are as follows:

Fish oil should be molecularly distilled. If it is not molecularly distilled then it means that the toxins are not removed. Let’s face it, our environment today has many pollution problems, and fishes are also affected with these problems. So in order for you to get the best out of your supplement, it must go through a process that can remove its toxins.

Secondly, fish oil that are low in DHA or docosahexaenoic acid and less concentrated in omega 3′s are also less effective. You need a certain dose of omega 3′s for it to work. That’s why you need an omega 3 supplement that has enough amount of DHA.

Lastly, fish supplement that is made from a mixture of rancid fishes will not be good.

So before buying, keep in mind that the best fish oil supplement should have all the right ingredients on its product label.
