Health Care Reform
Health Care Reform is necessary since the U.S. has a catastrophically fragmented health care system that provides incentives for sick care instead of prevention. The system is in dire need of Health Care Reform — reform to save lives, to save families and to save money for both patients and the American health care system.

@SexSteakSoda You …
@SexSteakSoda You don’t think that people planning ahead until next year? People are thinking I won’t have as much money next year so I wont hire or invest this year. Which lengthens the recession. Because of it we need to have more welfare which = more debt. Then people think how are we going to pay for all of this debt… We can’t spend like this forever increased gov. uncertainty = people spend less create fewer jobs.
@SexSteakSoda …
@SexSteakSoda Kennedy Reagan & Bush got increased revenue through lower tax rates I would suggest he start there. What type of spending is going to be cut? This is the same guy that spent 50 million for the grass on the capital mall and you think that there isn’t spending to be cut? Every federal agency has an increased budget…. We need to what clinton did cut government spending…
@davidmesaaz First …
@davidmesaaz First of all, the Bush tax cuts don’t expire until the end of this year, so he has to wait until his proposed tax increases are voted on. Obama wants to increase revenue via tax increases, mainly on the people in the upper tax brackets. Second, what kind of spending is he going to cut? The man is stuck with two wars and an economic mess. He can’t cut the defense budget during war time. Its tough to balance out the deficit in a decade, let alone 4 years.
@SexSteakSoda From …
@SexSteakSoda From the IRS where do you get your numbers? I don’t understand your point about the number of tax brackets.
RE “define rich” Well you are in the 10% of the richest people in the world… So shouldn’t you have 40 to 70% income tax? But that would not change your behavior at all you going to just keep on working just as happy as a clam making a half to two thirds less than you did before… Just so you can give money to people less fortunate.
@SexSteakSoda Your …
@SexSteakSoda Your making my point… Obama is not breaking with the Bush policies of bailouts and stimulus he is continuing them and he is getting the same results. Which is Unemployment and uncertainty. Why are they following Bush and the GOP bad example? It was big spending that lost the GOP the control of Congress. Its the big spending that is going to cost the Democrats the control of Congress…
@davidmesaaz Bush …
@davidmesaaz Bush had 8 years in office, Obama has only been in office for 18 months. We are still feeling the effects of the Bush Administration. Bush passed bailouts and a stimulus plan which combined a total of two trillion dollars. His bank bailout of over 700 billion in late 08′ counted toward the next fiscal year, so Obama had to inherit that debt right off the bat. Securitization of AAA rated bonds with SUBPRIME loans were illegal under every president until Bush. The list goes on.
@davidmesaaz By ” …
@davidmesaaz By “rich” you mean the top tax bracket right? Define “rich”. I can assure you that 1% of the population doesn’t pay 40% of the total federal budget, lol! THAT is ridiculous. Give me your source on those numbers. The top tax bracket is anyone who makes over 373k a year, they pay 35% of their annual income in 2010. In the year 2000 people who made 288k or more paid 39% of their annual income. There were 5 brackets under Clinton, 6 brackets under Bush. So where did u get your numbers?
@SexSteakSoda When …
@SexSteakSoda When is the the statue of limitations up for blaming bush? The unemployment figures for Obama have been going so don’t you think that he deserves part of the blame? I think that we should extend them jobs not welfare checks. Obama is doing to the US what liberals did to the inner cities. They raise taxes and benefits and when people can’t afford don’t want to hire new people… Well we need to create a permanent welfare states.
@SexSteakSoda What …
@SexSteakSoda What do you mean “lost” revenue. Revenues over the decade went up dramatically. Yes he did raise payroll taxes thank you FDR and social security. But he cut the taxes from 70% to 28% and because of it he 15 million people paid no taxes after Reagan. Before Reagan the rich paid 18% of the federal budget. Now the richest 1% pay 40% of the budget and the top 5% pay 60% of the budget. Revenue has increased but spending increased even further. We have a spending prob not a tax prob
@GermanStraight1 …
@GermanStraight1 Generally its because of crime and other non health care related issues. But the US receives better health care than Canadians. The French and the Germans live healthier better lives why are so many of them immigrating to other countries like the US? Well when you are looking north the Canadians are looking south. Because Canadian flood American hospitals… and not the other way around. Lets not look to the US lets look to singapore and other HSA related plans.
@davidmesaaz Reagan …
@davidmesaaz Reagan cut income taxes then he raised taxes elsewhere to make up the difference in lost revenue. See the Tax Equity and Fiscal Responsibility Act of 1982. In fact, TEFRA was the largest peacetime tax raise in American history. We cannot keep cutting taxes during war time. We already extended unemployment benefits through the Recovery Act so we wouldn’t send million of people who god laid off under Bush, to the streets. No more cut and spend bullshit.
@davidmesaaz
well …

@GermanStraight1 …
@GermanStraight1 The health care system that spends the least is singapore its spends 1.5% of GDP. That is the system to copy. Not the european model.
@SexSteakSoda What …
@SexSteakSoda What would I do differently? Well lets look at other recoveries. In the Post World War II they cut taxes and had a huge business tax cuts. The reduced regulations and weakened Unions with the Hartley Taft bill making our labor unions more flexible. The Marshall Plan and the GATT reduced tariffs and we sold and imported more goods overseas. JFK did the same in the 1960′s cut taxes and engaged in free trade. Reagan did it. Clinton passed NAFTA cut regs welfare reform and cut taxes
@GermanStraight1 …
@GermanStraight1 You spend less and you get less… If you were to receive the kind of treatments that we get in the US your system would be more expensive.
@SexSteakSoda He …
@SexSteakSoda He didn’t stablize wall street he destablized it for the long term. I thought that your one of those liberals who hate corporate welfare? But with the systemic regulator the New Financial Bill allows the FED to bailout any bank with out an act of Congress. Instead of getting rid of too big to fail Obama is making it the law of the land. The largest banks the ones with all of their DC ties will get bailout the little guys that acted responsibly will go under its that simple.
@SexSteakSoda Well …
@SexSteakSoda Well if he tries the economic policies of the liberal it may take longer than that..FDR new deal policies over 8 years had at best 10% unemployment and at worst 20%. Reagan & Clinton shared similar policies turned around a miserable economy in less than 2 years. Its the policies that matter.
@SexSteakSoda I …
@SexSteakSoda I think that your math is a bit off if Obama created 2 million jobs how is it the unemployment rate rose after the bill was signed? Obama promised if we don’t pass the stimulus bill unemployment will be over 10%. They signed it and it went over 10%. No Obama never said that he created 2 million jobs He said that the stimulus bill created or saved 2 million jobs.If we don’t sign this bill jobs will be lost.created or saved politican spinning a bad story.
@SexSteakSoda RE …
@SexSteakSoda RE spending money This is what John F Kennedy said about tax cuts “It is a paradoxical truth that tax rates are too high and tax revenues are too low and the soundest way to raise the revenues in the long run is to cut the rates now … Cutting taxes now is not to incur a budget deficit, but to achieve the more prosperous, expanding economy which can bring a budget surplus.”
@SexSteakSoda Your …
@SexSteakSoda Your right you have to spend money to make money is true. But it is private individuals that need to spend money to make money and not the federal government. But if you need to spend money to make money why are they raising taxes on those that spend money? Higher taxes means less money spent by individuals and more money spent by government. Can a third party make decisions about your life better than you can? Absolutely not Why let the government spend your money on your behalf
@GermanStraight1 Of …
@GermanStraight1 Of course the German and Canadian systems aren’t perfect (as you well know,) but you guys still manage to spend less and get more per capita and as a percentage of GDP. As Americans, the most and simplest question that we’ve always failed to answer is this: Is there a moral/ethical, as well as economic imperative to ensure every American has access to high-quality health care? To me the answer is unequivcally “yes”!
@ilovemycat00
well …
@ilovemycat00
well …
I can only say that the System in Germany and the EU and Canada is NOT perfekt … but … it works … nobody looses there Home because They cannot pay there medical bills !
NOBODY dies , because the insurence company says you have a “preexisting condition” … Nobody is forced to first wright a check , before getting operated !
Again … not perfekt , but … FAR BETTER then what exists in the US and …
that is the funny part … CHEAPER !

@davidmesaaz ( …
@davidmesaaz (continued) Obama then passed the Recovery Act when invested money into the American economy, sending billions to each state and added up to about three quarters of a trillion dollars total. This created 2 million jobs while stablizing Wallstreet and helping those who are running out of unemployment from becoming homeless and signing up for even more Government assistance. The old saying “you have to spend money to make money is true.” What would you do different? Explain please.
@davidmesaaz Obama …
@davidmesaaz Obama said before he even took office that it was going to take longer than 4 years to fix the economy. When Obama took office, we were already 10 trillion in debt. We are currently at 13 trillion. You also have to remember that the bank bailout passed right before the Bush Administration left office and didnt take affect till the next fiscal year which was 08, when Obama took office. That was another 700 billion on top of the 10 trillion.
oh shit! Let’s pay …
oh shit! Let’s pay attention to the well-paid doctors who have to spend time running a business instead of the crumpling infrastructure and downright bad economic situation in this country! Poor doctors.
Is health care reform something we need to do? yes! Is it something that trumps the economic status of this nation? no!
