Contrary to what you may have heard, African Americans are plagued with skin problems just like everyone else. Because of their genetic composition, dark-skinned individuals are prone to skin discoloration and breakouts. This also includes some Indian, Asian, and Latino descents with darker skin tones. This is due to the amount of melanin in the skin and because African Americans have more melanin than fair-skinned individuals, special skin care is required for darker skin.

What is melanin?

Also known as pigment, melanin is a substance that gives natural color to the skin and hair. Individuals with darker skin tones have higher amounts of melanin, and those with less, have lighter skin tones.

Different Skin Types

Proper care is the key to healthy skin. Cleansing, treating, moisturizing are all part of the regimen to protect your skin. Before you can properly treat any problems, you must know your skin type.

Dry – This can be a temporary problem due to the elements of Mother Nature such as the wind and sun or it can be a lifelong problem. Dry skin can be characterized by skin that looks and feels rough, fine lines or cracks.

Oily – Oily skin is shiny. A simple explanation of oily skin is the oil producing sebaceous glands are overactive and as a result, they produce more oil than the skin needs. This oil seeps out and gives you the shiny appearance.

Normal – This type of skin has an even tone with a soft smooth feel. Normal skin is not greasy or dry and the glow comes from healthy blood circulation and good health.

Skin Care Regimen

Regardless of your skin type, you must take care of it to prevent early aging and damage. Because darker skin tends to be plagued with discolorations and skin breakouts, it is imperative to develop and stick to a health care regimen.

Cleansing

Cleansing is one of the most important steps in promoting healthy skin. Darker skin is more delicate and harsh chemicals should never be used. Since soap tends to dry the skin, it is recommended that you do not use it. If you have oily skin, a purifying cleanser is recommended.

Because black skin is prone to having large pores, toning is critical to keep the pores open. Since this could lead to blackheads and other skin problems, it is essential that you take care to cleanse your skin properly.

Protection From the Sun

Despite having more melanin, dark-skinned people still have to protect their skin from the sun. While it is said that melanin protects dark-skinned individuals from sun cancer, melanin only provides some protection. For this reason, it is necessary to use sunscreen if you are going to be out in the sun for extended periods of time.

Moisturizing

Regardless of your skin type or color, everyone needs to keep their skin moisturized. Even those suffering from oily skin should use some type of moisturizer to keep their skin hydrated. This is especially important for dark-skinned people with dry skin. It is recommended that people with darker skin tones use creams in place of lotion because it is absorbed into the skin more effectively.

With a regular skin care plan, you can have healthy skin for years to come – no matter what your color.

Marketing your cosmetic surgery medical practice can appear as an overwhelming task. Why? You do not just market your medical practice you need to work as a living. You need to see patients, perform the methods and write the important points. You need to follow-up in your patients, take proper care of complications, and cope with your staff. It is a never-ending labor of affection.

But there’s an easy method of promotion that’s frequently overlooked. It’s easily available, and it is an integral part associated with a campaign to advertise yourself as well as your practice. It is the energy from the testimonial!

Why you need to use recommendations to advertise yourCosmetic Surgery Medical Practice.

The entire point of promotion is to buy your messages across for your clients explaining why they require the products or services of your Cosmetic Surgery Medical Practice. However, with everybody screaming, “Buy mine, buy mine” towards the top of their lung area, it’s frequently hard to be stick out.

This is where utilization of this method sticks out and is definitely an absolute lifesaver for the practice!

Using recommendations is really underused, yet so valuable. You will probably kick yourself when you begin utilizing it. If used properly, simple, short quotes can provide lots of credibility for your promotion and concurrently improve your sales figures too.

Sure, anybody can place an argument like,

“I simply loved my deep chemical peel! It made my skin seem like new. I’ll never acquire one from other people!-Sue, Arizona”.

Or what about the endorsement of, “I recommend that Dr. Dufus Bupkus. I have had others and he’s the very best!-Erectile dysfunction, patient.”

However these claims don’t hold many pounds. Would You believe them? Will they sway you arrive at you like a physician? No. And I’ll let you know why. Effective recommendations for the promotion of a Cosmetic Surgery Medical Practice have certain elements in keeping:

1. They’re specific.

2. They’re verifiable.

3. They’re impressive.

Let us take a look at this stuff at length and I’ll explain the reason.

Effective recommendations for the promotion of a Cosmetic Surgery Medical Practice #1. They’re specific

Endorsements and recommendations which are convincing are specific to the expertise of the client. Instead of just proclaiming that the deep chemical peel made Sue’s skin seem like new, this testimonial should say something about her experience.

“I’d forgotten by pointing out approaching wedding of my niece. I’d one day to ready and observed my skin had lost it’s glow. I could not see all individuals relatives using the way my skin looked.. I known as 5 doctors as well as their staff chuckled at me. Then i known as Dr. Lycka. I could not believe the main difference! He saw me immediately and thoroughly took in to my problem. Then he recommended a microdermabrasion along with a javani treatment. I immediately looked and felt better. Then his medical esthetician put some Glo minerals makeup on me. All I’m able to have to say is Thanks!! Your workplace really saved my day!”

Since states a mouthful!

Effective recommendations for the promotion of a Cosmetic Surgery Medical Practice #2. They’re verifiable

Regrettably, you will find lots of unscrupulous people. Many doctors will rapidly create false recommendations and endorsements since they haven’t any real ones. Nearly all customers are rapidly becoming conscious of this plan. This is exactly why it’s so vital that you provide verifiable information together with your accolades.

When listing a testimonial or endorsement inside your ad, include a way the possibility buyer can recognize your customer. Including a title, a profession as well as an age. These components allow the buyer know that they’re liberated to verify the info given. They develop a considerable amount of trust and credibility.

Effective recommendations for the promotion of a Cosmetic Surgery Medical Practice #3. They’re impressive

How can you impress someone having a testimonial or endorsement? Easy! Give ones which are from impressive people.

Yes, it’s not hard to impress purchasers if your superstar encourages you. But let’s say your recommendations originate from people? That actually works, too. Simply range from the title or status of the baby giving the endorsement. The secret here’s to phrase the title in a way it means something for your audience.

For instance, if writing an advertisement for everyday folks, we’re able to condition the title of the individual giving the testimonial as:

“Sue Cruz, Mother of three”

Even individuals individuals who aren’t parents know how your main time children occupy. This lady has three children. Despite the fact that Sue is not a broadly known celebrity, her title brings its air of impressiveness due to the way it pertains to the service or product.

I’ve without doubt you are thinking at this time: “How do you get my clients to create recommendations such as the following these recommendations?”

Here’s ways to get your clients to create Effective recommendations for the promotion of a Cosmetic Surgery Medical Practice:

Whenever you request for any testimonial, specify what you need. I frequently condition my demands by doing this,

“Since you are happy with my service, Let me request should you be prepared use a testimonial. I’d like to let my prospective clients learn about the way the product assisted you.

The client knows just what I am searching for.

Most sufferers are searching for validation and justification just before buying. Supplying all of them with proof that the service is well loved by their peers is a superb method to give your advertisements credibility and improve your sales. Effective recommendations for the promotion of a Cosmetic Surgery Medical Practice is a great way to increase sales and the value of your Cosmetic Surgery Medical Practice.

I have diabetes symptoms (newly diagnosed, but apparently I have had it fo a while and didn’t know it according to my doctor) and my hair keeps falling out near the crown and in the back, causing thin spots.
Someone told me that this can be a one of the diabetes symptoms that result from having diabetes. Is this true and if so; why?

hair loss is not directly related to diabetes symptoms.

Four Early Warning Diabetes Symptoms

Diabetes Symptoms

The Four Diabetes Symptoms – What Every Diabetic Needs To Be Aware Of

Whether you have got type 1 or type two diabetes mellitus, both types will present you with similar diabetes symptoms that you should beware of. When you have either of these two types, your own blood possesses an excessive amount of glucose or perhaps sugar that it could manage. And we are all aware that too much will never best for the body. Any time glucose inside your blood will increase to a quite high level, your system will begin giving you totally different signs and symptoms associated with a diabetic patient.

When you’ve got type one, the damage is in the insulin-producing cells or perhaps the beta cells because they can no longer produce the right amount of insulin to counteract high sugar levels in your blood. This is basically the action of insulin, of course, if it is lacking in significant amounts, our bodies will then begin to show signs.

In type two, a similar story occurs, other than the destruction is in your cells since it is already developed resistance to insulin. Therefore, though your body creates the correct quantity of it, still it won’t do any good for the reason that rest of the body will still deny it anyway. This ends up with elevated blood sugar levels that lead to diabetes mellitus.

Top Four Diabetes Symptoms

Top Four Diabetes Symptoms #1. Urinating Often: Assuming you have noticed that you seem to go to the bathroom much more recently, it could possibly be one of many indications of this blood sugar disorder. If no other reason has caused this-frequent intake of water or another illnesses, then it could be one of the signs you are looking for. In this kind of medical condition, since glucose is already working in high levels within your blood circulation, when it reaches the kidneys the organs cannot filter the glucose. They end up diluting your urine by adding more water and that is when your urinary bladder seems to be full all the time.

Top Four Diabetes Symptoms #2. Tingling Sensation: This is also called in medical terms being a neuropathy, and it only occurs in most diabetic patients. Because this medical condition affects glucose in your own blood and your blood travels to different parts of your body, the rest of your organ systems are affected. In here, we’re talking about your nervous system, where all kinds of nerves are affected. The signs are mostly clear in the extremities and therefore are usually felt as tingling sensations. Although mostly evident in later stages, you can feel this in case you are diagnosed with diabetes.

Top Four Diabetes Symptoms #3. You Are Generally Thirsty: Whenever your thirst is apparently unquenchable, you may be showing indication of diabetic patients. As your body requires more water to be able to dilute your urine that is definitely full of glucose, you may be becoming thirsty more frequently than necessary.

Top Four Diabetes Symptoms #4. Blurred vision: It typically happens in later stages, however , your visual organ system is also affected when you find yourself recognized as diabetic. As explained preceding, diabetes mellitus is a really systematic disease, so that it can impact different organ parts together with your eyes.

Are you experiencing one of these diabetes symptoms? If you do, don’t wait to visit a doctor. Ensure that you do not have any of those diabetes symptoms as well as have yourself checked out before it might be too late.

This disorder could potentially cause the victim quite a lot of agony and pain. Vitiamins like Omega-3 will help. Overfed and overweight, it appears unlikely that many Americans might possibly be deficient in fat. But there is one people are missing: omega-3 fatty acids, which are located in fish, flaxseed, and several nuts. It really is believed that this deficiency may cause or worsen depression in many people.

Western diets have improved drastically during the last 150 years, when the ratio of fats from fish and wild plants to those from animal and vegetable oil sources, specifically in processed foods, moved from 1:1 to 1:10. This switch has coincided along with a sharp rise in the instances of depression in recent decades, suggesting that omega-3 supplementation could possibly be one way of treating depression along with other mood disorders.

“By consuming more omega-3, we are essentially re-equilibrating the ratio,” says a professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.

Eating more fish helps SAD or Seasonal Affective Disorder. Studies show that populations that eat a lot more fish per capita, for instance Japan (one hundred forty seven lbs per year) and Iceland (two hundred twenty five pounds annually), have unexpectedly low rates of seasonal affective disorder.

While researchers don’t recommend omega-3s as a first-line treatment for everyone with major depression or bipolar disorder, emerging studies suggest it may be effective if you have mild depression or as a possible adjuvant to medication. Omega-3 supplements affect the mind by way of a different mechanism than antidepressants, so adding these to an antidepressant regimen is “attacking the sickness from a different front,” according to Dr. Mischoulon.

The impact of omega-3s appears to vary by the kind of depression. Studies of individuals taking medication for major (or unipolar) depression have discovered that one to two grams a day of your omega-3 supplement generated a measurable reduction in symptoms. The advantages to patients with bipolar depression are much less clear, however. While omega-3 fatty acids can prevent relapse and alleviate depressive symptoms in many bipolar patients, it seems to possess no influence on the manic episodes associated with the condition.

Omega-3s and postpartum depression
Though numerous studies have yet to substantiate it, one promising utilization of omega-3s may be the treating postpartum depression. Evidence shows that women who develop postpartum depression generally have an omega-3 deficiency, also , since pharmaceutical antidepressants could be bad for the fetus as well as child (through breast-feeding), health professionals are optimistic that omega-3s will prove to be a powerful preventive treatment while pregnant.

Much is still undiscovered concerning the link in between omega-3 fatty acids plus depression, but in the meantime, adding these fats to your diet can’t hurt. (An essential exception: people who have certain blood disorders, particularly those taking blood thinners.)

Ways to get omega-3s in what you eatThe best way to get omega-3s is from the source (foods such as salmon, halibut, and walnuts), but fish-oil- and flaxseed-oil-based supplements are also available in both capsule and liquid form. Experts propose consuming from 0.5 to 2 grams per day, although the Federal drug administration warns how the everyday intake of omega-3 fatty acids from all sources shouldn’t surpass 3 grams.

But people experiencing the signs of depression shouldn’t depend exclusively on omega-3s for alleviation. “This continues to be a comparatively unproven treatment for mood disorders,” says Dr. Mischoulon. “For health and wellness purposes, individuals can easily proceed by themselves with a supplement. But if you are looking to deal with depression-even occasional depression-getting a psychiatric evaluation as well as proceeding with a physician’s supervision is the most prudent way to go.”

It truly is vital that you get help early to ensure that treatment can begin asap. With treatment, those that have Arthritis In Feet and Ankles can easily take care of pain management, stay active, as well as live a fulfilling life, generally without surgery.

Arthritis In Feet and Ankles Description

You’ll find 3 kinds of Arthritis In Feet and Ankles.

Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis, also called degenerative or “wear and tear” arthritis, is a kind of dilemma for many individuals whenever they achieve middle age. Over time, the even, sliding surface covering the edges of bones (cartilage) gets worn and frazzled. This results in inflammation, swelling, and pain inside the joint.

Osteoarthritis moves along carefully also, the anguish in addition to stiffness it causes worsens over time.

Rheumatoid Arthritis

Not like osteoarthritis which often uses a foreseeable pattern in some joints, rheumatoid arthritis is a system-wide disease. It’s an inflammatory illness the place that the patient’s own defense mechanisms assaults as well as damages cartilage.

Post-Traumatic Arthritis

Post-traumatic arthritis can be cultivated following an accident into the feet or ankles. This sort of arthritis is just like osteoarthritis and will develop years following a fracture, severe sprain, or even ligament injury.

Arthritis In Feet and Ankles Cause

All That You Should Realize Arthritis In Feet and Ankles

Osteoarthritis

Several aspects increase your chance for acquiring osteoarthritis. Since the potential of cartilage to treat itself reduces as we get older, the elderly are more inclined to develop the condition. Various other risk factors consist of excess weight and family history of this affliction.

Rheumatoid Arthritis

The actual precise reason behind rheumatoid arthritis is not known. Even though it isn’t an inherited sickness, analysts believe a lot of people have genes that make them more prone. You can find normally a “trigger,” similar to disease and also environmental factor, which will activates the genes. Should the person is exposed to this trigger, the body’s defence mechanism actually starts to generate substances that harm the joint. This is just what may result in the development of rheumatoid arthritis.

Post-Traumatic Arthritis

Fractures – specifically those that destroy the joint surface – in addition to dislocations would be the most typical injuries contributing to this particular form of arthritis. An injured joint is about 7x more likely to turn out to be arthritic, whether or not the injury is correctly cared for. In truth, soon after injury, the body may secrete hormones that induce the death of your cartilage cells.

Arthritis In Feet and Ankles Anatomy

You will find twenty-eight bones and also more than 30 joints inside feet. Tough bands of tissue, known as ligaments, maintain bones and joints in place. If arthritis develops in one or higher of those joints, balance in addition to strolling could possibly be affected.

The joints most commonly impacted by arthritis within the lower extremity consist of:

The ankles (tibiotalar joint). The ankles is the place where the shinbone (tibia) rests across the uppermost bone of the feet (the talus).
The 3 joints on the hindfeet. These 3 joints include:
The subtalar or talocalcaneal joint, where the bottom of the talusconnects to your heel bone (calcaneus);
The talonavicular joint, where the talus attaches on to the inner midfeet bone (navicular); as well as
The calcaneocuboid joint, the place that the heel bone joins on the outer midfeet bone (cuboid).
The midfeet (metatarsocunieform joint). That’s where one of several forefeet bones (metatarsals) attaches to your smaller midfeet bones (cunieforms).
The big toe (first metatarsophalangeal joint). This is where the first metatarsal connects to your great toe bone (phalange). This can be the area where bunions commonly grow.

Arthritis In Feet and Ankles Symptoms

Indications of Arthritis In Feet and Ankles fluctuate, according to which joint is affected. General symptoms include:

Suffering or tenderness
Stiffness or maybe reduced motion
Swelling
Difficulty walking as a direct consequence of one of the above

Arthritis In Feet and Ankles Diagnosis

A medical professional will base an analysis in your history, indicators, a physical examination, and additional tests.

Arthritis In Feet and Ankles Health Background and Scanning

A medical history is important to grasp more details on the condition. Your physician will need to know in the event the pain started out so when it occurs. Would it be worse in the evening? Should it worsen whenever walking as well as running? Is it continuous, as well as can it appear and disappear?

They may wish to know if there is a earlier problems for the feet as well as ankles. If that’s the case, your medical professional will examine your injury, when it occurred, and just how it had been treated.

Your health care provider will need to know if the anguish was in each foot or only in one foot, and exactly where it truly is located exactly. Footwear might be examined, as well as any medications will be noted.

Arthritis In Feet and Ankles Some other Tests

One of many tests performed in the physical examination will be the gait analysis. This shows what sort of bones in the leg and feet fall into line with walking, measures stride, and tests the strength of the ankless and feet.

X-rays can display alterations in the spacing between bones or in the form of your bones themselves. Weight-bearing X-rays are classified as the most valuable additional test in diagnosing the severity of arthritis.

A bone scan, computed tomographic (CT) scan, or magnetic resonance image (MRI) may also be used in the evaluation

Arthritis In Feet and Ankles Treatment

Depending on the type, location, along with seriousness of the Arthritis In Feet and Ankles, there are many different types of treatment available.

Arthritis In Feet and Ankles Nonsurgical Treatment

Arthritis In Feet and Ankles Nonsurgical treatment solutions include:

Pain relievers in addition to anti-inflammatory medications to lower swelling
Shoe inserts (orthotics), for instance pads or even arch supports
Custom-made shoe, say for example a stiff-soled shoe using a rocker bottom
An ankles-feet orthosis (AFO)
A brace or possibly a cane
Rehab as well as work outs Weight control or even nutritional supplements
Medications, like a steroid medication injected on the joint

Arthritis In Feet and Ankles Surgical Treatment

If Arthritis In Feet and Ankles can’t improve with nonsurgical treatment, surgery are. A choice of surgery is determined by the arthritis, the impact from the disease about the joints, additionally, the location in the arthritis. Sometimes one or more type of surgery can be needed.

Surgery performed for Arthritis In Feet and Ankles include arthroscopic debridement, arthrodesis (or fusion from the joints), and arthroplasty (replacing the affected joint).
Arthroscopic Debridement

Arthroscopic surgery may be useful in the first stages of arthritis.

An adaptable, fiberoptic pencil-sized instrument (arthroscope) is injected in the joint by way of a number of small incisions through the skin.

The arthroscope is outfitted which includes a small camera and lighting system, in addition to diverse instruments. The camera projects images of your joint using a television monitor. This enables the physician to search directly within the joint and identify the problem areas.

Small instruments by the end of the arthroscope, like probes, forceps, knives, and shavers, widely-used to clean the joint section of foreign tissue, swollen tissue that lines the joint, and bony outgrowths (spurs).

Arthrodesis or Fusion

Arthrodesis fuses the bones in the joint totally, making a single continuous bone.

The medical specialist works by using pins, plates and screws, or rods to keep the bones while in the proper body placement as you move the joint(s) fuse. Should the joints fail to fuse (nonunion), this hardware could break.

A bone graft may also be needed if you have bone loss. The surgeon may make use of a graft (a bit of bone, obtained from among the list of bottom leg bones or wing in the pelvis) to replace the missing bone.

This surgery is normally quite effective. An exceedingly little % of patients end up having wound healing. These complaints can be treated by bracing as well as additional surgery.

The biggest long-term problem with fusion is the development of arthritis in conjunction with the joints alongside those fused. This occurs from improved stresses placed on the adjacent joints.

Arthroplasty or Joint Replacement

In arthroplasty, the weakened ankles joint is substituted for an artificial implant (prosthesis).

Although not as usual as as total hip or maybe knee joint replacement, improvements in implant design make ankles replacement a feasible option for nearly all people.

Along with delivering pain relief from arthritis, ankles replacements offer clientele much better mobility as well as movement when compared with fusion. By allowing motion at the previously arthritic joint, less stress is moved to the adjacent joints. Significantly less stress ends up in decreased occurance of adjacent joint arthritis.

Ankles replacement is most often suitable for people with:

Highly developed arthritis of the ankles
Ruined ankles joint surfaces
An ankles condition that interferes with everyday living

Such as just about any joint replacement surgery, the ankles implant may perhaps loosen in the past or stop working. Should the implant failure is severe, revision surgery may be necessary.

Arthritis In Feet and Ankles Surgical Recovery

Feet and ankles surgery is usually painful. Pain-killer inside hospital as well as for a period after being released on the hospital may help.

You must keep the feet raised higher than the level of ones heart for 1 to 2 weeks soon after surgery.

Your personal doctor might advise physical therapy for several months that will help you regain strength inside your feet or even ankles and restore mobility. Normal everyday living generally is often resumed in three to four months. You may need special shoes and also braces.

In most cases, surgery relieves agony along with makes it much simpler to execute activities. Total recovery can take four to nine months, with respect to the severity of your condition prior to surgery, and the complexity of one’s treament.
Guantee that if in case you have some of the indications of Arthritis of the Feet and Ankles that you just speak to your medical practitioner.

An ounce of prevention towards wellness -

Learn the simple steps to living a healthier and happier life!

Concern over health and how to improve your health has become a topic more and more of us think about and try to implement in our lives. Advances in medicine have helped us live longer lives and have allowed us to overcome some of the ills and infections that used to kill many people. Vaccines have helped prevent illness and death. They have eliminated diseases like smallpox and have helped against rabies, diphtheria and the plague.

However, we have started to incur a new host of health problems due to the length of our life, the processed foods we eat, the fast paced lives we live and the chemicals that pollute our world. Every day we see new commercials on TV about the next great drug that will make your life better or healthier. But do you actually listen to the list of possible side effects. Are these drugs really helping or just creating different problems. Remember, no pharmaceutical company ever made money by curing you quickly so you could stop taking their pills.

Why wait until you feel poorly before you see a doctor that will only work on alleviating your symptoms and not on fixing the underlying problem. Start achieving wellness and begin improving your health before you get to the point you need to see a doctor. Work on improving your overall wellness.

As the old adage says “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”

Of the leading causes of death in the United States, many can be prevented. The likelihood of contracting heart disease, diabetes, and other health issues can be directly impacted by the choices we make every day. The choices about what we put into our bodies and the choices we make that affect our personal environment.

Here are some things you can do to increase your wellness and start down the path to improve your health:

Diet and Nutrition – Your diet does a lot in determining your overall health and wellness. What you put into your body does make a difference. “It’s easy to buy into some pretty popular nutrition misconceptions — myths and half-truths that ultimately find us making far fewer healthier food choices than we realize,” says New York University nutritionist Samantha Heller, MS, RD.

Read labels, don’t trust all the advertising and always try to get whole foods and not processed substitutes.

The same goes for your supplements. Get those that are made from natural ingredients and aren’t over processed. Every vitamin and mineral and phytochemical in our body works in concert with one another, and it’s easy to knock that balance off. Be sure the supplements you are taking are balanced and introduced to your body in a way that they are usable and work together as nature intended.

Some of the things you want to make sure you get enough of in your diet are fiber, antioxidants, soy, and water. These things along with a well balanced nutritional intake of whole foods and supplements can go a long way in improving health and increasing wellness.

Weight – Maintaining a healthy weight is critical to improving health. You don’t have to be as thin as a rail – this is actually just as unhealthy as being overweight – you just need to keep the excess in check.

It all begins with attitude. Start by changing how you feel about yourself, your body and your eating habits. Change to a can do attitude where you start to do what’s right for you. Simple moderate exercise, eating a healthy breakfast (no skipping allowed), reducing your calorie intake by not taking just one more are all small things we can do to get in better health by being at a better weight.

Don’t go for the fad diets that don’t work or at best get you to lose weight for a while but then just put it back on later. A slow and steady change will help you lose the weight and keep it off and it will be much healthier for you.

Get plenty of whole foods, protein (quite often a good soy protein can give you what you need without adding fat to your diet) and drink lots of water. Water is critical to the health and wellness of your body. It helps rid you of toxic build up and it is needed for normal cell processes to work. Another side effect of water is that it can make you feel full without adding the calories so you will eat less.

Exercise – Aerobic exercise is very important to maintaining your wellness and improving your health. It has been linked to cancer prevention, reduction of osteoporosis, helping with depression, lowering the risk of heart disease and diabetes, and of course obesity and weight control. It can also help with cognitive functions – meaning you can think more clearly and work more efficiently.

Aerobic exercise makes most of us think of joining a gym or having to run several miles every day. This is just not the case. You can keep it very simple and still achieve benefits. Walking is one of the best exercises out there. It is simple, easy on the joints, doesn’t cost us a lot of money and it can be done pretty much anywhere. To get a benefit from walking, you just need to make sure that it is aerobic. That means you want to walk at a pace that leaves you feeling “warm and slightly out of breath”. One good way to start is the 5 out 5 back plan. Just walk 5 minutes away from the house and then you are force to walk 5 minutes back. Increase the time out as your health and fitness increase.

Stress Management – Most of us live with some type of stress every day. It has just become part of our lives. It has also become one reason we don’t always feel our best and why we are susceptible to feeling run down and ‘sick’.

Reducing stress can help now and our long term health. Stress keeps our bodies from functioning at their best and slowly wears on us. Find way to relax, to have that ‘me’ time where the pressures of the day can be pushed aside.

Try to simplify your life. Our world has become so fast paced and ‘in your face’ – ‘do it now’ that we just don’t have time to sit and watch the clouds or the rain or…. One simple way to gain a little sanity is to disconnect from the fast pace, try just turning off the cell phone. Just leave it behind for an hour.

But, no matter how much we work on getting rid of the stresses in our life there will always be something that causes us stress. Luckily, there are ways to help us overcome the stress nutritionally.

Avoiding Toxins – With all of our advances and science and technology, man has come up with many great things to improve our quality of life. However, we are learning that some of these things that are there to improve actually produce side effects that can hurt us and our health – now and in the future.

The EPA has warned that indoor air pollution is more of a concern than the pollution we find outside. Many cleaners as well as skin and beauty products actually contain harmful toxins.

There are companies out there that do produce green cleaners that are safe for people and for the environment. Read labels and know what your beauty and cleaning products contain.

One of the best ways to maintain your health is to wash your hands. We touch so many different things with our hands things that might have been cleaned with toxins or touched by something unhealthy that by just washing, you can cut down on many unwanted health effects.

Adequate Sleep – Giving your body the sleep it requires is a great way to keep it healthy. During sleep your body regenerates and rejuvenates. It is absolutely imperative to get enough sleep, but getting more doesn’t always mean you are getting better quality sleep.

Quit Smoking – Despite the many warnings and the known health risks smoking is still prevalent around the world. Quitting this habit can not only improve your health drastically and improve your chances of preventing future disease; it can relieve you of a financial burden. Just think if you applied all the money you spend on cigarettes on healthy nutritional supplements how much you could increase your health and wellness.

Its not always the difficult path that is required for change. Quite often making a few simple changes in our lives can make dramatic results.

Researchers in the early 1980′s noticed cultures that consumed a lot of deep cold water fish had very little occurrence of heart disease despite their high fat diet. After much research it was discovered that fish are rich in omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids or Omega 3 Fish Oil. (1,2) In this article, we will discuss how Omega 3 Fish Oil is can fight heart disease and how it can help strengthen the heart. Furthermore, we will discuss other benefits of omega 3 fish oil may have on the body and how you can obtain Omega 3 Fish Oil benefits with out eating fish. Also, determine weather the brand of fish oil you are consuming contains toxins or not.

Most of us think that all fats are bad for your health, but in fact there are actually good fats out there. Omega 3 Fish Oil contains good fats. All natural fats are mixed with various kinds of fatty acids. The fatty acids in Omega 3 Fish Oil are made up of both short and long chain carbon atoms. These short and long chain atoms look like arms reaching out. If the carbon atoms are bound with hydrogen the fatty acid is considered saturated. (3,4) Long carbon chains that are double bonded to other carbon atom chains are considered unsaturated. Fatty acid chains have at least two or more double bonds are called polyunsaturated. Polyunsaturated fatty acids are classified as linoleic acid when there is a double bond at the sixth carbon atom from the omega end. When this happens the polyunsaturated fatty acid is called an omega-6 fatty acid. (4,5) Linolenic acid has a double bond at the third carbon atom from the omega end and this is called omega 3 fatty acid. Both linoleic and linolenic acid are needed to sustain life. Even though some fatty acids can be manufactured by the body, omega 3 and omega 6 can not be manufactured and must be consumed in our diets. That is one of the reasons that including Omega 3 Fish Oil in your diet is important.

Linoleic acid is very abundant in American diets, found in commercial baked goods, prepared foods, vegetable oils, and margarine. What most Americans lack is Omega 3 Fish Oil or simply omega 3.

Fish oil contains eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), two components of fish oil derived from linolenic acid. Both EPA and DHA have impressive health benefits. For starters, fatty acids are important for healthy cell membranes. Cell membranes control what enters and exits the cells in our body and protect the cell from danger. Depending on our diets (American diets are high in saturated fats), our cells can be comprised of mostly fatty acids saturated with hydrogen. Saturated fatty acids membranes are usually packed closely together with other cell membranes and becomes rigid and stiff.

If your diet consists of a lot of polyunsaturated fatty acids, your cell membranes will be more flexible and curved in structure and have a more elastic nature. This is because polyunsaturated fatty acids have double bonds between carbon atoms and the carbon atom chains have lots of space between them. When a cell membrane is more flexible it is healthier than the stiff and rigid saturated fatty membrane.

Omega 3 fish oil has been studied in depth in the area of heart disease. With impressive results fish oil has shown to lower the risk of heart attack and reduce blood pressure. One recent study examined men who lived in Finland. These men consumed a fairly high level of EPA and DHA in there diet and experienced a 44% reduction in risk of acute heart attacks compared to men who consumed very little EPA and DHA.

Another study of blood pressure and omega 3 fish oil determined that supplementation with EPA and DHA helped individuals with hypertension. Blood pressure dropped by 6 points during the experiment. (6)

Omega 3 fish oil has shown to reduce other risk factors such as lowering serum triglyceride levels and total cholesterol levels which are both heart attack risk factors. A study showed that postmenopausal women can reduce there risk of heart attack by 27% when taking omega-3 fish oil. (7,8)

EPA and DHA in fish oil can also combat some diseases such as asthma, multiple sclerosis, systemic lupus erythematosus, and cancer. Studies have shown that omega 3 fatty acids can help improve asthma in children and increase survival rate in cancer patients. (9,10) Fish oil can also fill nutritional gaps and increase weight in cancer patients. Low levels of DHA have been linked to depression; people who have supplemented omega 3 fish oil have noticed an increase in mood and relief from symptoms of depression. Omega 3 fish oil may even help with mental illnesses like bipolar disorders. One study suggests that fish oil can help with rheumatoid arthritis. (11)

With all these benefits you might be considering fish at every meal. Not all species of fish have high levels of EPA and DHA. Anchovies, Herring, Mackerel, Salmon, Sardines, and Tuna have the highest levels of omega 3 fatty acids per ounce of meat out of any other sea bearing animal.

The people who were initially studied on fish oil were the native Inuit; they consumed more than 4 to 5 grams of EPA each day. That’s equivalent to 1.5 – 3 pounds of fish each day. Even the most avid fish eater might find it hard to eat that much fish each day on a consistent basis.

With all the illegal dumping going in the ocean, one might be worried about the fish that is harvested for omega 3 fish oil could contain the toxic chemicals that are dumped into the ocean every year. Purity in a fish supplement is important. Because of the rising concern about toxins in fish oil, manufacturing companies have refined there fish oil processing plants and now distill the fish oil which removes all of the heavy metals like lead and mercury, and toxic insecticides such as DDT. Look for a supplement that claims its product is made from a 12 step distillation process to remove toxins, dioxins, and furans as well as PCB’s and other contaminants.

A supplement rich in omega 3 fatty acids is the simplest way to attain the proper amounts of EPA and DHA we need in our diets. By taking 1000mgs of omega 3 fish oil one can ward off a wide rang of disease. Look for a fish oil supplement that blends a little vitamin e with the oil which is an antioxidant that preserves the fish oil and prevents it from going rancid. Fish oil supplements provides powerful health benefits and can help those with asthma, multiple sclerosis, systemic lupus, erythematosus, and cancer and is a good choice as a preventive supplement even if you don’t suffer from these diseases. Omega 3 Fish Oil and other great supplements can be found at your local health food store or internet health food store.
