I smoke and i dont care if i get cancer. I was just wondering how other smokers felt.
Good answer jackass i feel the same way. im 20 started at 15.
I never said cancer is painless ive seen a lot of relatives die. If i do get cancer i wont be paying for kemo or other treatment just alot of pain pills and alcohol
I don’t think that anyone wants to get lung cancer. 20% of smokers will get lung cancer and 80% will not. It’s a risk that everyone knows about.
Of course there are many other kinds of cancer that people get too–both smokers and non-smokers. For example, the chances of a man getting prostate cancer is almost as high (17%), whether he smokes or not.
I know the risk and I am going to continue smoking. I’ve smoked for 28 years and I’m one of those people who enjoys a good cigarette. I have no desire to quit. My father has smoked for almost 60 years (he’s 77). He knows that it is a health risk but since the average life expectancy is only 78 anyway, he really doesn’t mind taking that risk.
It is a personal choice that is no different from the choice that overweight people make everyday. Obesity causes more health problems and yet people continually choose to be obese. They choose to take that risk.

To tell the truth, I do care if I ever do get it. I just try not to ever look at it that way. I try to stay positive and keep it in my mind that its not there and wont be. I have smoked since I was 13 and I am 21 now and it has had me scared at a point in time but hell what can I say its a habit that I wouldnt have started if I didnt like it.

Hi there
Well all I can say, the dr’s out there need people like you! Think about it, what would vascular surgeons do if nobody smoked, they would have very few patients to treat, so their income would drop dramatically. What about the ENT surgeons, boy no more chronic sinusitus and sinus washouts to perform, shame they will have very little income. Look you know the dangers, and you still choose to smoke, you obviously made your peace with it, but don’t ask why, when your body is ravaged by disease and pain caused by your lifestyle! Make sure you have good health insurance, you at least want decent analgesia when the cancer hit you with severe pain, you don’t want to hear, ‘sorry your medical insurance does not cover that’ Good luck
